Strawberry subsidiary Lynra and Adapteo’s joint initiative Aurora Village has been awarded the newly established “Future Force of the Year” prize at the Luleå Business Awards. The award, presented by the Företagande i Luleå foundation, recognises projects that, through clear and targeted initiatives, strengthen entrepreneurship and confidence in the future of the region. The Future Force of the Year award was created to highlight a company, project or initiative that, through a dedicated commitment in Luleå, contributes to regional momentum. In its statement, the jury emphasised how Aurora Village creates the right conditions for the ongoing green transition:

“Through this specific initiative, the collaborating partners strengthen the conditions for the modern business community of the future in Luleå and demonstrate confidence in what lies ahead. The initiative enables a green industrial future while also taking care of those who are building it.”

Creating ripple effects for the local business community

Aurora Village, run as a collaboration between Lynra and Adapteo, has been developed to offer modern housing solutions and a functioning ecosystem for the people working in the region’s major industrial projects. The initiative’s broader social impact was a key factor for the jury.

– Aurora Village has greatly impressed the board because it is an initiative that removes obstacles for the transition the region needs to make. We can see that this type of initiative not only creates business for the client and the supplier, but also for a wide range of other companies in and around Luleå – not only during the build-up phase, but over time, says Sara Axelsson, Chair of the Jury.

A model that is expanding

For the organisations behind Aurora Village, the award is seen as confirmation that the vision of putting people at the centre of the industrial boom has been successful.

– We are incredibly proud and happy about this award – it gives us a huge boost of energy for the future. For us, Aurora Village has never just been about logistics, but about the people who are actually building the green industry of tomorrow. The fact that the jury highlights how this creates ripple effects for the entire Luleå business community is the best recognition we could receive, says Sofia Widell, CEO of Aurora Village.

Property owner and partner Adapteo is equally delighted:

– This is fantastic news, but above all we see it as a very clear signal from the business community in Luleå that they appreciate what we are doing. That means an enormous amount to us, says Ola Skogö, Managing Director, Adapteo Sweden.

The establishment in Luleå has served as a pioneering showcase for the concept. Recently, Viscaria Village in Kiruna was announced, and another project will be presented in early June.
