Circular, scalable and purpose-built for societal impact.

Adapteo Group has published its 2024 Sustainability Statement, reporting progress across environmental performance, social value creation, and responsible governance. The company’s adaptable space solutions served around 250,000 end-users in 2024—supporting education, care, and community infrastructure while reducing climate impact and scaling circularity across its fleet.

In 2024, total greenhouse gas emissions fell by 20%, from 101,944 tCO₂e to 81,804 tCO₂e. Carbon intensity per square meter of space delivered decreased by 25%, and by 30% when measured against revenue. These results follow the implementation of updated carbon accounting methodologies from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), in preparation for third-party validation of Adapteo’s near-term and net-zero targets.

“This year’s results show that circularity and emissions reductions are not future targets—they are operational realities. The implementation of the SBTi methodology, combined with a full Life Cycle Assessment and real reductions in carbon intensity, puts us in a stronger position to make science-aligned decisions. Sustainability is embedded in our fleet, our processes, and increasingly, in how we measure value.” said Dr. Lina K. Wiles, Chief Sustainability Officer at Adapteo.

In addition, Adapteo piloted social value assessments on two flagship projects in Germany and Sweden, combining economic data and stakeholder insights to better understand the broader benefits of flexible space solutions.

2024 milestones include:

  • 100% of electricity used across all operations is sourced from certified renewable electricity.
  • 5-star GRESB rating, placing Adapteo first among peers on environmental, social, and governance performance.
  • Full Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) completed for Adapteo’s modular fleet—a critical foundation for refined carbon modelling and product development.
  • 61% of space delivered as reused modules, with 67% of outgoing material reused or recycled, and only 3% sent to landfill—progress toward Adapteo’s zero-landfill goal for 2030.
  • Improved governance disclosures aligned with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
  • 20% reduction in total greenhouse gas emissions, from 101,944 to 81,804 tCO₂e.

“Circularity is in our DNA. It drives how we build, how we serve, and how we grow,” said Johanna Persson, CEO and President of Adapteo. “We continue to scale a business that delivers both societal relevance and commercial resilience. Our model—rooted in adaptability, circularity, and low-carbon delivery—is proving its strength in today’s operating environment. These results reflect not just environmental progress, but disciplined execution across markets. As demand grows for flexible, future-proof infrastructure, we’re positioned to lead with impact and integrity.”

Adapteo’s 2024 statement reflects its growing role in enabling social infrastructure—especially in schools, care services, and accommodation—while reinforcing financial resilience through reduced emissions, lower resource intensity, and verified ESG performance.
