Comfortable Atmosphere for the Interim School
In 2018, Worfelden planned a two-story new building for the elementary school. Construction of the all-day school is set to begin in mid-2023. Since February 2023, the adaptable school, which provides suitable facilities for students until they move into the new building, has been in use. The former community soccer field served as the construction site. The conditions for a good learning atmosphere without the character of a construction site became a reality within a few months.
Complete functionality of a School
The modular building meets all the requirements of the school community for school operations and all-day care. Students, teachers, and school staff “live” in a fully equipped school building with rooms for intensive and support classes, a library, dining area, computer and music rooms, school administration with offices, a reception area, meeting room, pantry, a room for school social work, and for the caretaker. The two main buildings are complemented by a pavilion for meal distribution and a standalone play equipment container. Adapteo also fulfils the client’s special requests beyond the standard portfolio. The school was equipped with acoustic ceilings, sun protection blinds, and ramps to ensure accessibility. As a visual highlight, the decision-makers chose to have the container facility covered with colored foil.
Responsible decisions for Sustainability
The contract awarded by the municipal administration to Adapteo included foundation work, earthworks, drainage, electrical work, and utility supply. At the end of the agreed rental period, the entire building complex will be completely dismantled. The modules that are removed without residue will then be reused as school buildings, daycares, or even office or administrative buildings. With the circular economy system, Adapteo contributes to the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of temporarily used building solutions.
